Family Advocating Overview:
We have decades of experience advocating for children with behavioral issues, mental health diagnoses, and children with disabilities. We’ve had our own personal journeys navigating the systems that families use regarding meeting their children’s needs. We advocate on behalf of our families to ensure that they are part of the dialogue concerning their children. We support our families by teaching self-care through virtual meetings, phone calls, and in-person meetings. At Quest4Change we will work side by side with you to ensure that your voice is heard at all meetings regarding your child. Additionally, to help you to understand what other professionals are saying regarding your child and their needs. To us, a family can be both biological and chosen and can include: parents, children, siblings, relatives, spouses, friends, partners, and more.

You have the legal right to have an advocate at your side during any meetings regarding yourself, your family, and your children.
-
Often when using an advocate during a meeting regarding yourself, your family, or your children, that advocate has years of experience regarding how to communicate with the professionals involved. Additionally, there are often many emotions happening regarding your family and children. Emotions can easily stop someone to be able to say all that needs to be said.
An advocate has the ability to speak from a professional place of experience that sometimes a family does not have.
