Teen Mentoring Overview:

Being a teenager in today’s society is in a much different place than it was 20 years ago. Canadian and global surveys have shown that teenagers to young adults have the highest rates of anxiety disorders, severe depression, and suicidal behaviour than all other ages. These issues stem primarily from the rapid rise in digital technologies and social media. It has led teens to have a lower level of self-esteem and put negative pressure on themselves. This is why we emphasize ensuring all teens have a non-parent mentor in their lives. Our mentoring services are designed to take the mentor and mentee relationship into a group setting to yield better results. More specifically, we are then able to create specialized mentor groups to provide teens from all walks of life the chance to interact and learn from one another. We have found that ongoing friendships are created from these groups.
